Not many people would give up a high paying job to embark upon a dream, but Noemy Rubio believes some risks are worth it. "I came to the U.S. more than 20 years ago from El Salvador,” recalls Noemy. I was working for a cosmetics company making decent money when a friend invited me to a Primerica Opportunity meeting.”

Though she didn't understand much English at the time, she understood the concept of becoming financially independent. Working 14 to 16 hours a day, she made a good income but admits she didn't know what to do with the money she earned.

Noemy joined Primerica and went to her first convention. "There were more than 20,000 people there. I saw other women and Hispanics. There were awards and recognition — and they announced people's incomes," she exclaims. "Even though my English was still not that good, I understood that people of all cultures could make good money with this company just by helping other people!”

This veteran leader smiles at the thought of how the Primerica Opportunity has changed her life. "Here, the door is open to everyone — no matter what your background is," she explains. "Look at me. I'm a Hispanic woman and a single mother. Everything about my situation told me that I wasn't supposed to do anything special with my life … but I believed in myself.

"All I needed was a chance. Today, I've built my own business," Noemy states proudly. "I can pass it on to my kids. Before, I was making money, but for someone else. Now, thanks to Primerica, my kids and I have choices."
